Lando under new ownership


Please note that there has been a change in ownership at Lando with Martin Joubert being the new owner. Daniel du Toit, the previous owner, is no longer associated with Lando. Any commitments made by the previous owners regarding future services will be evaluated for feasibility and feedback will be given in future communications. The new management team is committed to providing ongoing superior service to all clients. As with our revamped website, the services and products as shown in this newsletter, is testimony to our continual strive to service excellence. New PABX system at Lando

A new PABX system has been installed at Lando to enhance the flow of communication internally and to all clients. In future all departments i.e. support, accounts and design will be available by dialing the 0861 414243 number. This is the only number that should be used for future communication with Lando. We strive to service excellence and will therefore never implement an automated voice facility at Lando. You will always speak to a real person capable of handling your call when phoning Lando.

Please note that periods of high call volumes are sometimes experienced, when you might not be able to get through. We all understand how frustrating this is and will do everything possible to avoid it. We are always available on a 24/7/365 basis for any support queries. However please note that a reduced number of staff are available for after hours support. In case you receive a busy signal you can either leave a message with contact details, send a sms to 082 7777507 or send an email to services@lando.co.za. You query will be handled as soon as possible.

Radius server upgrade

The radius server is used to authenticate users to ensure that only valid users can access the internet. The upgrades of the radius servers have now been completed. This upgrade ensures that if any one site loses connectivity for whatever reason, the others will always be available to take over. This configuration resulted in a much more stable internet service delivery.

This entailed creating extra redundancy by setting up additional radius servers in different geographic locations to ensure that backup authentication can always be done. The main purpose was to ensure that you will always be able to access the internet. This configuration will ensure that power failures and network equipment failures will have no impact on clients when accessing the internet. Please bear in mind that Telkom service delivery problems as well as international bandwidth problems will remain a part of our lives. This unfortunately is not controlled by Lando.

ADSL Notifications

A system has been implemented to alert the user if the data cap of ADSL has been reached. This system will send a notification via sms or email to advise you that 85% of the data cap has been reached and again when you reach your cap. This system predicts internet usage and can anticipate when the data cap will be reached. This will enable you to contact support at Lando to load data topups well in advance before your internet access is disabled due to reaching your data cap.

Cell numbers and email addresses from the billing system were used to populate the cell number and email address for this notification function. Every effort was made to ensure that correct data was used for notifications. Access the control panel above to view or edit this information. Please remember that cell numbers must be in the correct format i.e. 0829191234 will be +27829191234.

New ADSL Service

Now there is no need to battle with Telkom anymore for ADSL. Contact Lando direct to get connected with ADSL. We now have ADSL from R299 (including line rental, modem and 1GB of data).

This entails that Lando will handle the application for the ADSL with Telkom. You just fill in the forms and we take care of the rest. You will then receive one invoice including the line rental from Lando.
